no spark and cel light isnt working now.
Okay Im having a weird issue on my friends neon. He was driving along and it died on him. The way he described it was it was like he was starting out in first gear and it wasent getting enough gas, but no matter how much he gave it, it died. Couldnt get it to start again... anyways FFW to now. I went and took a quick look and there is no spark. I went to pull codes and the CEL light no longer works. It worked right up until the moment it died. I know this because it was always on. I have a few ideas and things im gonna check, but I wouldnt mind getting some other minds in on this. So what do you fine folks think? To me it sounds like it could be the coil pack. It does seem weird the the CEL light is off though, could the computer have **** the bed?
I guess it could be that the bulb burnt out. He said it was on when it stalled. Now it wont come on at all. Im going to look at it tomorrow again. I remember him having problems with the crank sensor (clip was broken) so im gonna jack it up and see if it wiggled its way loose.

well im about 95% sure its the pcm now. I checked the coil, the resistances are good, im getting voltage to the coil when I crank... my voltmeter isnt great so i get between 1 and 2 volts cause of it pulsing. Using a test light I cannot get a ground pulse from the PCM. Im also not recieving any CEL signal from the PCM. I took a test light to the wire right at the PCM and got nothing. I tried pulling it out and reseating the connectors as well as cleaning off all the bolt holes (looks like it grounds itself to the body) and still nothing. Im off to the wrecker this weekend. Hope they arent too expensive here, otherwise Das im lookin at you to pick me one up and ship one up here
hold on befor you yank that pcm bro, i had the same exact thing and it turned out to be a stupid little fuel pump fuse. turns out when that bugger blows it shuts down the ignition system causing what you are describing. it is the one under the hood, small 20 amper
