She's still a young pup compared to the 400,000 & 500,000 mile neons I have seen. My 97 has 287,000+ miles on her.

I didn't get her new...actually I'm the 3rd or 4th owner I think. But she has been rebuilt with some goodies inside, so I can drive her hard when needed

 

ahhh ok.... cause i'm almost terrified to drive my Neon hard... even though when i do i feel bad...and i pray that my car wont destroy itself lol

 

my dad bought our neon brand new
he used it to comute
then my sister used it comute when she went to college
and now its mine cause she got a job and makes 50k and shes getting mazda 3
so its mine with 240,000 miles

one of hte first times we fixed it he said
"these engines are built like hemis"
and i havnt stopped driving it hard since

it has matching hp&tq
it needs to be driven with power!

 

I'm not too sure on the reliability on these cars. I just bought mine about a week ago with 117000 on the odometer. So far so good. The engine idles a little rough and there are alot of bolts on the car that are rusty but everything else seems to work fine. I'm hoping to romp the crap out of this car for a few more years.

good lord, seeing the mileage yall get out of these, had my blue one for over two years and only have 24k... looks like it may outlive me, lol

 

mine has 189,000- i beat the hell out of it, still runs, lately ive been hearing a piston slappin when its cold, gonna be time for a rebuild soon
