Default trans leak

well i finally got the wifes car back together, now there is a horrible leak. it ran real good and didnt leak anything for a while, but as soon as i put it in gear trans fluid started pouring out the hole that the CV joint goes in. after most of the fluid ran out, then it just had a constant drip. within about 10 minuites about 3 quarts drained out. now it sux because we cant trade it in tomorrow...unless i figure it out before hand

i guess it might be a seal in there

there is an axle seal. mine started leaking for no apparent reason. I bought an axle seal puller to get the old one out. don't nick up the aluminum or it'll be leaking again...

It looks like I have the same deal as you, but I was able to get the part from Advance Auto Parts for only a few bucks(I'm not sure if I got the right thing now). It's a metallic ring that is colored red(the one currently on the car is blue). The size of the seals appears the same though.I haven't taken the axle off yet.Is there another seal I may be missing? The trans fluid drips right below the seal.
