i was under my hood today while my car was running and i could hear ticking...at first i thought it was just the valves.... but i put my ear up to the valve cover and it was the valves and then i moved down to my injectors and i could hear them clickin (# 1 and 2)...is it normal for them to click? cause i've never heard them before... maybe i was deaf and now i hear.... hmmm

 

yeah i hear the ticking in my car also when im under the hood its once in a while or if i give it a rev it ticks in the process of tryin to figure it out ill let you know if i do


p.s. the clicking is prolly the injectors firing but thats just a guess

 

yea thats what i'm thinking...but why would they click? cause i know its the injectors...just from where i could hear it from when placing my ear up to them...

 

Well my car makes the valve tick too, but the purge solenoid also makes a whole lot of ticking.

that i dont know i do know that people with 2nd gens have the ticking also from what ive read off there forums might be a 2.0 thing heh

 

yea i know the 2.0L does click...but i thought that was just the valves...cause mine click like crazy till they warm up...after like 2 min.

 

hah you have nothing to worry about, unless its "CLACKING" then your prolly missing a lash adjuster, but from what ive seen its the rockers ticking nothing bad just a tick that comes and goes... Along with the rod slap, its there too just listen!

 

The clicking or pulsing is normal, may just have been louder on this day than normal. Means they are working good. You can put your finger on them and feel them pulse to check if they are working correctly.

 

Just don't do it with the valve cover off.

 

how would ya do that, sit the coil on top of the cam & start it , lol
injector #1 clicks ecsessivly loud on mine, and when i let off the throttle wile its coasting it drops a cylinder sometimes,
when yours gets to that point you might wanna get concerned about it, but untill then dont worry about a thing, if injectors arent clicking theyre dead, some are just louder than others
