-How many RPM's-
im running 3rd gear all the way around the track with the smallest tires you can buy for 14" rims, and mine struggles coming out of the corner, if your hittin 60MPH and have a SOHC your definately gonna want to use 2nd gear, if you have the DOHC trans you might have some trouble getting it right, were toppin out at around 75 MPH the track i run, im on the 6750 rev limiter (ATX computer) at the end of the straight - right as im backing out of the throttle the rev limiter kills it --using 3rd gear with 195/45/14 tires, i used the biggest tires i could stuff in it and hit the rev limiter in 2nd about the flag stand and had to shift into 3rd, then back to 2nd for corner entry, its actually faster to shift, comes out of the corner like a rocket - but distracts you too much from driving in traffic,,
are you sure you guys only hit 60? our average speed on out transponders tell us we average 59MPH on a fast night, were pushin above 75 mph at the end those nights

What size track you running on? I run a 3/8 track with a 95 DOHC & have to use 3rd gear & run at about a 5/16 track & 2nd is not enough hit the rev 1/2 way down the track but not realy enough time to shift back & forth. If you can fit them in use the tallest tires possible, the tallest i can get in are 195/70/14. Good Luck Get in touch anytime you have questions. Where you running at?
a 195/75 will fit if you bend the bottom plate up on the strut to clear the tire, and i can squeaze a 205/70 on but it rubs all the tread off the inside , still no good for 3/8 track, so i just use the smallest tires i could find for the front & im on the rev limiter right at the end

I will be running a 3/8 mi track (beatrice Nebraska). I'm pretty sure they're running mid 60's. We had the sherrif come in and clock all the classes, and thats what they anounced. It sounds like I may just have to get some big tires and run in 2nd.....OR kick major A$$ and run 75mph in 3rd
!
PS.....Nice video!!! I like to see the passing on the high-side!!

this track is 3/8 measured around the inside of it, so its really kinda bigger, what are the lap times out there? i think the fastest recorded here (electronic transponders) was a 22.9 by a honda prelude, my fastest lap ever was a 23.0
up in sandusky on the 1/2 mile asphault theyre only allowed a SOHC automatic with stock tire size on all 4 & theyre runnin 22 sec. laps

Not sure on lap times. Our track is a 3/8 mi. measured from the outside, and the turns are pretty tight.....So, Its kinda a "stop, and go" track. I'm thinking if I run 14"s and some decent size tires....I can run in 2nd, and rap the hell out of it.
