Hello everyone. My daughter has a 1996 Neon. The problem is that I live in Illinois and she lives in North Dakota so I have to be like tech support for her over the phone. Well, she called last night. I thought for sure it was for money but is was for a problem with the car. She said it is running rough but runs especially rough when the humidity is high or it is raining. The CEL is on and sometimes flashes. I told her the flashing is a misfire. She got the codes read at autozone. They are 300 and 302 which I believe are misfires on cylinders 2 and 3.
My question is, should I just tell her to do a tune up and what is involved for a tune up for this car. I had the car for a short time but didn't really get into it to much. What parts are involved in a tune up for this car. I already read that platnuim plugs are a no-no for this car. Anything thing else!

plugs, wires, timing belt if near 100,000 and never replaced. i would change the oil as well and air filter...
