Need a way to empty the tank
Hi everybody been away for a while, bit recovering from the big-crash.. LOL My wife still picks pieces of glas out of my head,.
anyhow.. im starting to work on the dodge neon again, but the fuel tank is 3/4 full and for safety reasons I need to take the fuel out of the tank.
Pumping it with the fuel pump doesnt go as ive planned. after 2x it doesnt want to pump anymore. Untill the crankshaft turns again.
So, I need other ways to empty that full tank of gasoline...
Any suggestions..... A way to override the pump or a way to fix the relay so I can constatly pump the fuel out of the tank.
Plz help..

if you look at the outside of the fuel pump, there should be a little rubber hose cover on one of the plastic nipples...if you pull that off, the gas will drain....if you dont have the cover, you can either, take off the plastic ring around it and just let it pour out, or dsconnect the bottom of the filler hose, or disconnect any of the lines from the pump
ok what you can do is take the fuel pump relay out, and jump a wire across in the plug to keep the pump on, do you want me to take a pic of the relay box and point out wich 2 terminals to stick a wire in to run it? i do this with my race car alot
mine has the problem - the fuel quits coming out even tho the pump is running and i have to put vise grips on the hose to keep pressure in the line - but loose enough it still flows some out - be sure to clamp the hose on teh steel line so it dont blow off, it makes a mess
