How did my 80A main fuse blow during crank?
usually in all the how-tos, guides, ect...it says to fuse the line

I dont follow how to's. Ive done lots and lots of work to cars so im not new to anything. Why the hell wouldnt you put a fuse off of it? Its a 4guage wire, that **** could light the car up

you cant have a fuse from the battery to the starter, starters draw hundreds of amps of current, it just wont work
if your not new to cars you should know this stuff man
do you honestly think a starter that takes evrything a 500 CCA battery has to turn over the engine is gonna get enough current from an 80 amp fuse??

what the F does lawl mean
the only places that fuses should be from a battery is between accessories(i.e. neon lights, amps, hard wired radar detectors, **** like that) and at the power distribution center.....there should be no fuse to the starter due to the power that it pulls....you could put a 500 amp ANL fuse in there if you wanted to, but i still wouldnt recommend it because the more fuses the power has to run through, the less power thats gonna reach the object pulling it....
same reason when installin stereo amps that you dont wanna put a fuse under the hood by the battery and one in the back at a distribution block...because then the power has to run through 3 different fuses......every time power runs through a fuse you can drop it down almost 5%....depending on the fuse size....so therefore, if you fuse the battery between the starter then thats less power that the starter is gonna get that it needs, hense a blown fuse, and then less power to the accessories that also need them
