From what I understand because of it's lightweight the crank has the ability to spin a little easier and therefore allows the engine to free up horsepower. I have also read that it you get it off eBay it is well worth the price you pay for it.

yeah ive read up on it a little it.......Under drive pulley systems increase engine horsepower by reducing the amount of power required to drive external accessories. For example, the alternator, power steering, water pump and air conditioner all rob horsepower from the engine. By replacing factory-sized crank and accessory drive pulleys with a resized pulley, the accessories are slowed, resulting in more horsepower available to drive the rear wheels.

it will show if you have a bad alternator or water pump though so u might have to be ready to spend on that as well. Pulleys go for 100-250 and increase horsepower by 15-25

i got mine off ebay for around 60.00 and i really like it....
the pulleys are alot lighter then the stock ones and are just a little smaller

i certainly dont see there being a 15-25hp increae at all...maybe a couple horses, but definately not that much

wanna get technical spud it really doesnt increase the power at all[8D]
lol, i gotta give ya some ****
it just slows evrything else down to make the power being sucked up from teh accesories go to the wheels, they do help, but i really only noticed mine helping when the a/c is on, it'll still move itself with the underdrive pulley

Neons are FWD

They won't increase nor free up that much HP. Dyno's have shown anywhere between 2-5HP depending on other mods.

And also, there isnt a pulley for the water pump seeing as how the water pump is on the timing belt loop, not the accessory loop
