And for less than half of that 8000 you spent you could have had the ultimate carputer system, that would have sounded twice as good. Loudness, like you said isnt an important thing. Thats why I run my subs to 50hz only (lowest setting I can get without getting a cross over to go lower. 40 would be ideal), WITH subsonic on. Thats just a single 12" Type R. When I had it in my last car it would hurt to not have the car vented somehow at loud volumes

8000 is way to ****ing much to spend on a car audio system. My neon costed 1/3 of that. 2k is where I draw the line usually, but its been through many upgrades. Initially it was just a deck to my components and that 200w black rockford powering that sub in that older box

the 1 amp for the subs alone cost me $1300.00.....and with 4-12's and running it at about 1/4 of an ohm there was still tons of power left....but i had to run 0 gauge wire through the car......and like i said another 800.00 on the head unit......this stereo was insanely loud.....you could hear it loud and clear from 1/2 a mile away, and that was with the back seat folded up and 5 people in the car.....my parents would get pissed because it would rattle the windows in our house from a block away......needless to say i spent almost as much on tickets as i did on the amp...but the sound quality was good too....the subs were at 40hz, i dont like mids, so there were none, and all the interior speakers were ran off 2-500 watt orion amps and each speaker had a passive crossover....and i had an alpine SFC hooked up to it for a while which was kinda neat....
the stereo was loud enough that it got alot of attention and everyone within 50 miles had atleast heard of the car....then i got rid of the stereo because alot of people i never even met would come up to me and tell me that sumone they knew was talking about stealing the stereo......i cant even count on all my fingers and toes how many times people tried to break into it at nite.....

this is the sub amp i had, i wanted to get 3 more of them but i wouldnt of had the room since it was about 3 feet long....it now sits in my garage on a shelf since me friend cought it on fire.....once i get my PPI 1400 watt back from my dad im gonna have him rebuild it....hes rebuilding the PPI since i gave it to my girlfriend(at the time), then she dumped me so some friends stole it back for me, but by the time i got it back it didnt work anymore....

anyways, heres the pic, and a pic i found on cardomain of 2 of those amps in the back of an escalade(you you can tell how big it was, )

i wasnt into the car being fast back then, only real loud.....the car was fast enough as it was.....i would still have a real bad *** stereo, but i was getting tired of them getting stollen....surprisingly no one has messed with my rango yet....ive had 2 stereos that got stolen so far, total loss between the 2 was about $11,000[&:]

im sure insurance covers your losses though right? Its a neon, it wont be a fast car. Im building a tube frame kart with a 150hp motor to an 800lb frame. THAT will be quick
