Default Gas Tanks!
Anyone know if the 2dr and 4dr gas tanks are the same size for the neon? I have a rusty steel tank in my '96 coupe and there's a 97 4 dr at the JY with a plastic tank.

i belive theyre the same, i looked one up at the parts store the other day and it doesnt question weather its 2 or 4 door
just asks steel or plastic.

it dose not matter it is just that the metal one is stronger than the plastic, but it rusts

the plastic is also lighter... i would go with plastic if i were you

there was a difference in size from the years...like mine is an(1995 model) 11 gal. but then i think in 96 or 97(?) they moved it to i think an 12.5 gal. tank...

i know the r/t's have a larger tank then the regular neons.....you just need to get the fuel pump with the tank too

There the same for sure. I switched from the 4door fuel tank to a 2 door in my race car and it seemed to work fine.

Uhh, I have a 98 Neon R/T and I know when my needle is laying on empty, I cant get more then 10 gallons in that thing..

my r/t can hold almost 13 gallons from empty....

the fuel pump will be the same for a 2 door or 4 door....but im talking about the steal to plastic tanks
