Default turbo/supercharger

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and new to neons. I just got my neon last saturday so I've had it for only a week so far. It's a '99 coupe.

When my dad showed up with it and gave me the keys, one of the things he told me was that it was turbocharged.

So I assumed he was correct.

Today I went over to Muffler Man and got a whole new exhaust with muffler. I told the guy there that it was turbocharged, and he told me "it's definitely not turbocharged. Must be supercharged." So I thought "SWEET! Even better!" And I got all excited about that. Before we left the place, I started to doubt that it was supercharged. So I asked the one of the mechanics to look at the engine and tell me if it was supercharged for sure. He said it was for sure.

But after doing research, I can't find anything that says that it's either turbocharged OR supercharged. So I'm assuming it's neither.

So...what is it?

Also, I installed a wing on my neon. I know that they're front-wheel drive and was wondering if the wing will make any difference. I know that it wouldn't do any good because it's front-wheel drive, but will it slow me down? Do wings make a big difference, if at all?

If it's an aluminum wing it's good to have, you never know when you'll need some scrap aluminum for a project.

God damnit. Just as I expected. Oh well. Maybe I'll get a turbocharger. How much difference does it make?

Also, what about the wing? Do you think it slows me down?
