i leave my girlfriends house today with no problems
no thought of any problems

i get to my friends house 3 minutes later
the night before we went over a speed bump and i've noticed something wrong with the front right suspension since

i think it's the suspension making noise so we go to my friend's house to take the wheel off to take a look
we literally get a quarter mile away from where i stopped
and i hear this noise getting worse
all of a sudden i hear something start to grind on something else
so i just decide to stop at the grocery store which is only another quarter mile away
about 100 feet from where i heard the grinding the car stalls
all i think is "****..."

i turn the key and the car turns on but the rpms just shoot down
i press on the gas and they shoot up but ocne i let go they shoot back down

at the light i just turn the car off to save it

when it turns green the car doesnt turn on
i turn the hazards on and get out of the car and wave for all the people to go around me
this old man which a big beard says "your car is leakin"
i look down and i see water everywhere (we put green die in it to know)
then i say "ah...i think my head gasket just blew!"
and he said "i wouldn't take it that far..."
so my friend and i push the car from the intersection about another 100-200 feet to the parking lot
lucky enough not that many people were around
and the people who were were respectful of my lose

we get the car in a parking spot away from allt he other cars and it keeps leaking

my dad shows up and we get more water to put in the car

it goes straight through

alright
the things people said were wrong were
1. the water pump
2. the head gasket
3. something else that they didn't know
4. one of the pistons

and my dad went out a few hours after we got a tow truck to tow it across town back to my house
and he said that it wont start

so my engine is probably blown

i'm not that sad...






because now i have a reason to get a DOHC

hahahahahahahahahahahahah

 

maybe you bashed a hole in your oil pan & it ran out & threw a rod- ay?

i just want a dohc now

i'm gonna get like around a 12/14hp increase

i'm just sad because all aftermarket parts are more expensive

but so far everything i have i can put on the dohc

 

thats because theres twice as many parts to buy
the power gain you get is all in the topend, the lower midrange torque is actually less than a SOHC -untill higher rpm, but they still run stonger

 

yea i raced my buddy's dohc and i could notice there is a big difference

atleast now when we do i can probably beat him since ill have everything he has
plus an actual cai
and a lighter car

usually how much are dohc engines?
and which year neon are they best to get them out of?

 

98-99 dohc engines work pretty good......thats what id go with

the only aftermarket parts that are more expensive are cams and cam gears....

if the water just ran out then it sounds like the water pump went out....but it would atleast start up and run, unless you overheated it and and it blew sumthing up
if its making noise then its probally sumthing in the bottom end....probally a rod......when i broke the rod in my old motor, it bent 3 valves, broke one completely off, messed up a cam, and knocked off the rockers for the 1st cylinder.......i still drove it 6 miles like that so i could get it sumplace where i could leave it....but i was goin a little over 115mph when it happend, so i was able to coast a good distance

 

when there was still a little water in it and we tried to start it
it was making noise
my dad said that what you said probably happened

port matching will be more expensive!
and so will the ECU
and probably the long tube header

but hopefully i can get a dohc...
