Default Code 52...Help Needed

Hi im new to this forum so i'll first say im from the pittsburgh area...home of the steelers. My problem is i have a used 1997 dodge neon with atx and sohc. I took it to the dealer because when i first got it the CEL was on...they checked it and replaced the o2 sensor...light came back on no later than 3 hours after i got the thing back...seems like the car goes into gimp mode. Code 52 saying that it's running too rich and that would explain why i am getting sucky fuel economy. Can anyone help me??

Do you know happen to know which O2 sensor they replaced? Try running some fuel injector cleaner through your system and see if that helps. Could be a problem with one or more of your fuel injectors.

If the car is running rich, it means the PCM is dumping to much fuel into the engine thus causing bad gas milage.

Call the dealer and find out then. They should have replaced the upstream O2 sensor and not the downstream.

All that one does is monitor if the cat converter is functioning properly. They should have replaced the upstream sensor. Take it back!
