will a 97 sohc auto with CAI beat a stock 97 vw golf 5speed

My friend has an older (early 90's ) 5 speed 2.0 Golf that was slow as *****. I'm talking 17's in the quarter slow.
Maybe they got faster, but I doubt it.

But then again a sohc atx isn't exactly a rocket ship.

My guess is the neon would still win.

 

Especially having a 5-spd and not an auto.

 

Going with the VW.

 

a auto neon is a crappy comparison to alot of cars that are 5-speeds......i still dont think the neon would put up much of a fight

that VW wouldnt have a chance agains a MTX
but the ATX are pretty slow

my best friend's exgirlfriend had a ATX DOHC
slow as ****...
