Man.... The SVO in those pics is similar to a car called the Merkur XR4TI. I know they share the same 2.3L Turbo 4 making about 180hp. Pretty cool cars, I have a theory that the 2.3 Ford used in there cars is Volvo's trusty 4 Banger that they borrowed from the parts bins.......
I dunno though, do the turbo 2.3's use 8 spark plugs?

 

Isn't Merkur the "foreign" name for Mercury, another name in the Ford lineup?

 

yeah merkur was imported from germany
and the 86 svo came 200hp stock

Edit: and if the merkur is similar to anything its the capri which is just a mustang with a different body

 

2003 saw the introduction of the 390hp Eaton blown 4.6 with 32V. That 390 number is a little underrated though, whereas the 06 Shelby is WAY overrated at 500hp...more like 460hp...

 

its becuase they weight 5000 pounds

 

but a 500hp car on a dyno should still dyno about 435-445 at the rear wheels no matter how much it weighs...not 410rwhp
