What oil in manual Tranny?
I just picked up a 96 Neon for $1500 yesterday and I have a stupid question. What are you supposed to run in the manual transmission? I looked in a repair manual and it just said Mopar manual trans fluid or equivelant. I have to change out an axle seal and don't want to mess anything up. Thanks!

RE: What oil in manual Tranny?
nope...
this is the first one in this car, and i only put about 1/2 quart of that fluid in there from when i hit the semi a broke the axel.....the way i figure it is that the tranny was gonna go out eventually since i drive it real hard and the previous owner used it for autocrossing...plus 150,000 miles with that kind of driving isnt bad
my old car: i bent a shifting fork when i slammed it into 2nd while doing a bad *** burnout......2nd tranny, had almost 300,000 miles on it and didnt like climbing the mountains in pennsylvania[&:]

80w90 ia WAY too thick guys, its supposed to have something with the thickness of ATF in it, gear oil will cook it on a long highway drive, i know from experience[:'(] plus you lose power from the tight clearences trying to shove that thick crap between the gears
that royal purple stuff works wonders, use synthetic 5w30 motor oil is it has alot of miles or abuse, the chrystler fluid is like **** water
