Default neons and Pt cruisers

Why do people swap parts from the pt cruisers in with the neons? like the head, egr blockoff plates, lifters, rockers, and crane valve springs

Perhaps for power and durability issues. Your going from a 2.0 to a 2.4. More power to be made technically. Some people like to be different also. And from what I understand, some parts are interchangeable and cheaper, so why not? lol

The lifters, rockers and springs are stronger, but they don't come with Crane valve springs. Those are strictly aftermarket.

so would you have to change the head also or could you just swap the lifters and rockers... i should probably do that... my 90's minivan had the rockers broke 2 times in a month because of aggressive driving

You can just swap the lifters and rockers, you don't need to swap the head as well.

Im outta the loop with the pt cruiser stuff, Im assuming that since the pt is 2.4 and the neon is 2.0 that its just the block 400ml bigger, so even if you swap all that stuff you still have a 2L engine. Unless swapping the head adds 400ml, but that seems rather impossible.

Is the 2.4 a bigger stroke or bore?

edit: come to think of it, if the 2.4 head will fit on a 2.0 block, the 2.4 must just be a stroker
