Default Dohc block and turbo.

There's a guy at one of the local junk yards who is willing to sell me a DOHC engine for cheap. I was wondering since my engine is DOHC and all I really want is the Block, could I just have the block bored and upgrade the internals or do I need more. I was wondering this because im close to getting my turbo finally and didn't really wan't to get into complete engine swap, I know the turbo has special needs and what not but I was just trying to keep it simple any suggestions would be great, thanks in adavance !

if you want a safe engine for a turbo then all you need is better rods and pistons....no head work or anything like that.....bore it out, put in the forged rods and forged pisons and you will be good to go for a long time....and able to run higher boost

So would I be safe with a .040 bore with forged rods and forged pistons? the engine has 168,000 miles on it that's one of the reasons I was wondering, how high of a boost do you plan on running with your turbo spud? what's your bore? That was one of the first kits I looked at right there FastNeon84. saves a lot of money hope to have all the money in january.

the internals on my motor are completely stock....so i have the stock bore

i wanna run about 7......so im gonna start at 5 and gradually work my way up a little..

i wouldnt reccomend boring the block any larger the .20 over if you gonna wanna run a decent amount of boost......20 would be the max for a decent setup...any more and you will be thinning out the piston walls a decent amount which wont be good for the added pressure of the turbo

a good built bottom end can handle 22psi no problem
