i dont think its the insurance company that puts the sports car label on cars, its the manufactuer that does it. because the dealer just cant go oh you have a "mini" well we think thats a sports car so give us more money 
didnt r/t have better suspension and what not, even though it was the same engine werent there slight differences than the sport

Power Mirrors
Power Sunroof
Cruise Control
Air Conditioning
AM/FM/CD Player
Under Hood Light
Trunk Light
Lighted Mirrors (BOTH SIDES)
Remote Keyless Entry
Rear Defrost
Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel...and I am sure there are a couple more I cant think of at the moment. I know a couple of these things are factory for the R/T, but not for ALL Neons. The guy who bought this car originally had me in mind when he did it. I like all the creature comforts, and still have a manual tranny.

all r/t's are unique with the leather wrapped steering wheel and shift ****.....front/rear sway bars....color matching(kinda) interior accents on the seats.....performance tuned suspension....r/t specific rims.....and the additional sport options
my r/t however is very plain but came with
manual windows
manual mirrors
manual locks
cruise control
am/fm/cd player
no sunroof
stripe delete
the guy that ordered it made it look just like a regular neon.....except for the badging
but the guy removed the front sway bar and added some koni struts and some yokohama AVS tires
and i added power windows
