Default Screamin Demon Ignition Coil

Do you think that this would have any performance gains? I always heard that the Neons ignition shouldn't be messed because there isn't much that will improve it. Is this true? Clik below and tell me what you think.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. I don't have alot of fuel or air to burn because I don't have any real mods on my car. I was just wondering if it would make any improvement. Thanks Spud

The Screamin Demon puts out more voltage than the MSD or stock coil pack, but you still won't notice a difference.

Would you notice a difference if you had more fuel and air pumping through your engine? Like a turbo or supercharger?

You may notice a smoother idle, but thats about it.

if anything do this, its dependant on the condition of your coil and plugs, but if you are getting new plugs instead of gapping them at the stock (0.030 I believe) try getting them up as high as you can, do it over the course of a few days, go up at 0.010 increments until you either start getting a CEL or you can physically notice/feel a misfire, then back them down a little. Mine are currently at 0.047 IIRC, just over 0.050 it started acting a little funny, been 3000km so far and no problems.

This probably will do just as much as that coil will do, or if you couple both of them you might be able to get an even bigger gap. Bigger gap = bigger spark, but doesnt neccessarily mean more power/torque or anything. Its just a more efficient spark. Maybe see a 0.5mpg improvment or something. But I started at 0.040, drove it for the weekend, then went to 0.050ish and every now and then when it was cold at WOT it would hesitate a little. Theres lots of spark plug "tuning" tricks, like having the electrode aimed a certain way so the main spark is directed in a certain way, because it doesnt all ignite instantly at once, if it were possible to see a slow motion video of a power stroke on the motor you would see how the flame travels around. I think they say to have it aimed at the intake valves. Its hard to do and I dont even bother, but you will have to somehow keep track of the position of the electrode. Oh and dont use bosch +4's

well you would probably want some sort of ignition control, colder plugs etc. A high current spark is never a bad thing, unless its going through your body

Nope, the correct gap is 0.035".
