hey i am tryin to install a srt4 motor into my 98 rt neon .. i have only 1 question i guess i should of look into before doin the swap wat computer do i use my stock pcm or the srt4 pcm

sentry... its Chryslers anti-theft devise...it works with the keys. just get a new PCM that hasn't been programmed to sentry yet....otherwise the Sentra can be found on ebay and car dealership lots and is a family sedan that used to be in competition with the Neon

 

where can a get a new pcm from

 

plus i have the stage one upgrade if that counts for anything

i talked to the dealership they said the pcm will be blank so is that how i want it

 

Well, I am prepping to do the SRT-4 swap.. You cant use the SRT-4 PCM? Or is it just easier to use the sentry? Whats this deal about they key working..? I dont have to change my key or steering column, do I?!

 

not if u get a "unprogramed" PCM... inside the keys of cars that have Sentry there is like a microchip that sends a signal to the cars computer via Sentry...and if u put in a key and the computer doesn't recieve that signal...the car wont turn on... so just get a blank one and u should be fine.

 

Oooo I get it.. My Camaro was like that.... Im lookin at this MegaSquirt... but its lookin to be ALOT of work.. though I am doing the SRT swap.. so yeah... haha anyone done the MegaSquirt?
