Hi ok i got a real promblem when i wiggle the steering wheel on my 1998 neon the dash lights gauges go out and the car stalls. seems to do this only after it is run awhile, ran it for two week all ok then started doing it again. i replaced the ingition switch but still does it. Car will start and run ok but as soon as you turn the wheel it cuts out all power and stalls. anybody have this happen. i also took off all the compents from the steering wheel clock spring, turn siganal, wipers, ect still does it help please. thanks

 

could be a worn wire check those see if any are cracked cracking bare touching ect ect...

 

Hi thanks i been looking for a short all day still have not found any cracked or worn shaffed wires i let the car sit and now it isnt doing it. seems after i drive it it acts up so i left the ignition on to see if maybe any componets were maybe heating up but that didnt do it either. just when i wiggle the steering wheel i know it must be a short but no wires are in contact with the column. lol think it must be one of those wiring night mares i have dreamed about!!! well if any one else has stumbled on this help please lol

 

might also be a loose connection on a plug, not the plug itself but where the wires tap into it, see if you can tug on any of those in the steering column give em a jiggle and what not

yes pulled on all of them too lol well i quess i will drive it tommorow and see if i can make it do it again lol maybe i magically fixed it but i doubt it. sure would like to find a wire or loose connection then i would be sure i got it fixed. i will keep u posted thanks.

Yes when turning it slightly back and forth. cant get it to do it again and it went two weeks last time before it showed up again! i am going to drive it later to see if i can get the promblem back. i will keep u posted. thanks
