the power steering pump has a piece that sticks up ontop with a square hole in it.....located on the left side of the bigger rubber hose......you put the head of a 1/2in. breaker bar in there and just pull up on it.....then while holding tension on the breaker bar, tighten the bolts

I'm in the process of figuring out how to tighten the power steering belt via playing with the power steering pump. I have loosened the two bolts on the back side of the bracket and could not at all move the pump, it wouldn't budge, up or down as if something else was holding it. Help please

This is in reference to my '95 Neon 2.0l 5-speed sweetness!

ok, to help better illustrate the 2 bolts I am referring to. I loosened the top bolt closed to the radiator and the bottom bolt closed to the radiator. Are there only a total of 2 bolts or more?

Thanks

You loosened the mounting bolts correct, like in the pic...

Those are indeed the bolts I loosened (a lot). Do the pumps tend to get stuck???

If it hasn't been moved in a long time, it could be stuck. I'd hit it with a rubber mallet to get it to budge some, then try and tighten it.
