driver side driveaxle

Default driver side driveaxle

Any tips on getting this thing off of a 95 SOHC w/auto trans? I've been working on it for 3 hours with no luck. Doesn't seem to be enough room to get a prybar in there to do anything. I may even consider just pulling on the end if that'll actually get the thing out.

dont pull on the end of it.. you should be able to get a long screw driver in between the tranny and the end of the driveaxle on the left or right side, not from right below it.. then just pry and it pops out

x2, use a 3 foot prybar, or something similar. put it between the beginning of the asxle shaft and the tranny housing, and git it a good "pop" quick like. should pop right out, if not, rotate the axle just a little and do it again. do it til it pops out.

I believe it's being held in with a C-clip inside the driveaxle? Gonna have to pry it out good I think...without hurting the inner CV boot.

those on the ATX are a real bitch, i use a long very thin screwdriver & a hammer and knock it out from the other side, you just have to make sure whatever you use is thin enough to sneak past the crosspin in the diff

I have a 24" prybay which I can just barely get behind the axle but it just itsn't budging. I'll have to get some longer screwdrivers and keep trying.

Got it yesterday-a standard 24" crowbar and a hammer to help wedge it in and off it comes.....now getting the seals in seems like that's going to be a pain.

BTW- I ordered what I think are driveaxle seals but I'm not sure now its the right thing. Its listed as A404 Left and right transaxle seals 99 cents each(no picture so I can't tell and they're not here yet) from Advance Auto Parts. It seems like everyone else had to go to the dealer for these? Is there some other trans seals other than the driveaxles?
