You've got a short somewhere I think. The fuse blows out to save your pump from a terrible, terrible death.

not only that, but just about all of the sensors in the engine compartment are powered by the fuel pump fuse....
i kept blowing that fuse before....on 1 car it was because the pcm was bad.....on another car it was because 2 of the 02 sensor wires were touching together

you can test the pump to know if you need to replace it...

jack up the passenger side of the car and unplug the wire clip on the fuel pump....
run 2 wires outside the car from the battery to the fuel pump..(speaker wire works fine)...
look at the clip that on the fuel pump, that you disconnected earlier.....hold one of the wires from the battery on the outter metal tab thats in the clip....hold the other wire to the other metal tab on the opposite end of the clip.....
dont worry about the inner 2 tabs in the clip(those are for the fuel sender)
you might have to reverse the wires on the tabs.....but it wont hurt anything...

if you fuel pump is good then you will hear the whinning sound from it priming.....

i know this can sound confusing.....but what you are basically doin is bypassing the relay, all sensors on the relay, and the stock wiring

But remember, just because you hear the fuel pump priming doesn't mean it's working correctly. It could still be bad.

well then if you hear it priming, check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail
