rear main seal installation?

Default rear main seal installation?

Well i cant find my book and I for some reason didnt pay attention when i was taking off my rear main seal as to what way it was facing.. So i see the lipped side and the flat side.. which side should be facing the tranny?

Working on the same thing myself, do you just push the seal in or drive it in w/something. Also should it be pushed until the lipped part makes contact,or the outer part is flush?

you push it in until it wont go any further....the edge of the seal should actually be about 1/4in. inset from the block
just push the seal in....dont drive it in with anything or you can brake it
