Default Battery Relocation

I'm stuck between relocating my battery to the trunk or getting a smaller dry cell. I want to make a cold air intake and I need to do something with the battery. I need your guys' ideas and help. I know that the dry cell would be alot easier but it cost quite a bit more. They seem to be in the $120 to $180 range. Which isn't really in my budget. The relocation kit is only $70 from Summit and includes everything I need to move the battery. Has anybody ever done this or have any knowledge on the matter? Any help would be appreciated.

My battery takes up the whole tray though. Plus my radiator fan is in the way if I were to leave the battery there too. Maybe I'll get a small tractor battery and then cut the tray. That should be enough amps to start the car right?

i don't know anything about amps and all that jazz
but if you have the dual fan you can still fit the intake
all you have to do is cut the 3.0l intake in half and put a 6 inch long 2.5 pipe in there to extend it
see if the intake will fit first
i've never heard of a battery taking up the whole stock battery tray on a neon though...

ps-how is the radiator in the way?

I got it figured out now. It's gonna take a little cutting but I think that I can make it fit now. Thanks

I know a guy who lives up North and has been using a tractor battery for years and has no problems cranking the engine in cold weather.

Default RE: Battery Relocation

I relocated my battery for about $20 in parts from the hardware store and parts store. I picked up some nice, heavy gauge wire from the hardware store and ran it to to the trunk. Then, I fabbed up a metal tray and used one of the hold-down kits from the parts store to secure the battery to the tray. I bolted the tray to the trunk floor. It holds like a rock, and I haven't had any problems. With a little heat shrink on the cable ends it looks pretty damn good too. :-)
