Synthetic blends are crap and are a marketing scheme. They don't work any better than regular conventional oils. True synthetics such as Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum are a Group IV oil (which contains a better base stock oil than conventional), not like the "fake Group III oils that can legally call themselves synthetic like Royal Purple oil.

They don't make a "true" synthetic.

I don't hate Royal Purple, but if for the same price you can get a TRUE synthetic...why not?

My personal choice has always been Mobil 1 for synthetic and Castrol GTX for regular dino oil.

What About Amsoil and Red Line? True Synthetic?

I started out using Amsoil for the 1st 2 years of racing - then switched over to Red Line for the past 2 years.
I noticed that all of my competition was running Red Line - So I swapped over.

I also use Red Line MTX and Power Steering Fluid in my race cars and tow vehicle.

Becasue true synthetics are Group IV oils and Royal Purple is a Group III oil. Group II oils are severly hydrocrakced oils that can be called synthetic.
