phosphorous also helps prevent premature wear in alot of older engines with non roller lifters have more friction on them and the phosphorous helps prevent the lifter from eating the came lobe. alot of oil companies are cutting back on the amount of phosphorous in the oil wich in tirn is causing camshafts to fail in older engines. ive had 2 camshafts fail because of this in my 81 camaro since ive been running rotella i havent had a problem. chevy had a really bad problem in the 80s with their camshafts failing due to poor metal. if you can get ahold of june 2006 issue of hot rod magazine read the section "when good cams go bad"

188,000 in my old dak, all with regular old 10-40, cheapest stuff i could buy, in my opinion its all about maintance, atleast for stock engines. Daytona say 140,000 all with the same oil, trans gave out though damn A-604,S o well though, im not trollin just sold my neon, i miss it, couldnt keep it though, see the sig. for the reason why
