Ok, I just installed polyurathane motor mount inserts. My engine doesn't move but now the car vibrates like hell!! Will this go away with time?? Also I purchased a stock gauge with tach, but the speedometer dont work so I switched it out with my old one. It worked for a lil bit, but of course i had to move the speedometer needle, so now my speedometer wont even move. Im guessing its that far off. So how do you set the DAMN thing. I have been trying most of the night.

the only good thing that happen today was that I removed all my power steering and I got a lil bit more horse power. Not very noticable bit, I still did it. plus it saves some weight.

What do you mean by you took out all the power steering? Be careful doing that, if you plan on going that route, you will want to look at a manual steering rack... Put it this way, I have reason to beleive that me not having power steering caused me to smash my neon...

As for the mount inserts, you will get used to the vibrations and they will ease a bit once the mounts are broken in a bit..

 

those inserts will still make it a rough ride.....thats kinda the whole point though

How do I solve the speedometer problem? I pulled the needle out and now when I put it back into place and now my speedometer doesnt move[:@] Can some one please help? thanks

 

Take the cluster out and remove the clear lens. Put the cluster back in and start the car and pull the needle off and set it back to 0.

 

Ok , I thought I tried that already, but Ill give it another shot.

Whenever i did it the first time it just didnt want to go up when I accelerated. [:@] Oh well ill try again tomorrow I guess

Thats kinda of funny, cause I got real frustrated and I started to hit it with a little hammer I have. I thought it was hopeless, but I actually helped it. Im guessing it made it press againt the sensor more and that made it work. Oh well now I have a guage cluster with a tach>

As for the vibrating, my side motor mounts were ok so I just took off the side polyurathane inserts, and now the car just vibrates a little bit less. so overall today was a pretty good day. IMO

I got the motor mounts too. my car vibrates but not that much.....and I dunno if its cause I did sumn wrong when I rebuilt my car, but theres a few noises I cant really pin point wat they are. but I no they ain normal lol.
