Default neon engine swap

Arethere any problems with putting a 1999 neon 2.0L \ auto tranny combo into a 1998 neon withsame drive train. Kids blew the engine and tranny in the 1998. Many thanks.

95 & 96 neons have some different sensors, but all you would need is the appropriate wiring harness in that case.

To the original poster, it will swap in fine.

The swap should be pretty straight forward as long as both motora are either SOHC or DOHC, if you are going from one to the other, the wiring might also need to be changed or modified for the sensors and such. Also, the PCM would be different between SOHC and DOHC.

You should be fine with the swap. I have noticed that some of the parts I have gotten lately have come with a sensor adapter, so you might need to splice a few wires on the sensors, but other than that you should be fine, just pay attention and label everything so you know where it goes when you put it back together. A roll of masking tape and a pen will save you hours, lol
