On the way to work some redneck behind me yelled out his window that my brake lights were out[>:]

I was finishing up my CAI last night, so any wires i might have bumped what should I check?

figured out it only works when my lights are on[&:]

Check for a missing ground. You're brake lights should work all the time, even when the key is not in the ignition.
