Default Electrical Problems!!

I've having one problem after another with my 96neon. My problem now is somewhat complicated to me now. I put in an aftermarket head unit in and it worked fine. Then about a month after that, i put in an amp with some subs. Well, the guy that put it in for me left the power wire untapped and it came loose. I tied the wire back up and then i tried to turn the radio on. Well, the power light on the radio is lit, but when i push it, nothing happens.(i've hooked the radio directly to the battery and it works fine)Also, when i turn my headlights on, my gauge lights do not come on and my dome light will not turn on when i open the door, or try to manually turn the dome light on. but when i do turn that **** for the dome light, the "Door Ajar" lights turns on, but it is VERY dim (i can only see it at night). When i open my door, or turn the **** for the dome light (and the door ajar light lights up too) the power light on my radio turns off. I've checked all my fuses, and all are fine. Could it be a relay? If so, where would that relay be?? (i'm not sure, but areall the relays are under the hood in that fuse box, and on the side of the dash by the other fuses) Also, could unhooking the battery for a few mins help, or would that make things worse??

Make sure your radio is hooked up to the right wires, theres one in there thats a hot wire from the parking lights to dim the factory stereo and it will make a mess if you try to pull a ground or pull hot back through it. Does your radio work with the parking lights on? It sounds like you missed a blown fuse somewhere. double check them again, ive seen people hook up stereos in neons and the parking lights stay on afterwards from the wrong wires being hooked up, its almost always a blown fuse causing dim lgiths like yours, they backfeed through that curcuit which causes the lights to glow dim.

i found out what it was... i didnt check *ALL* of the fuses. the interior lamp or whatever it is under the hood was blown. when i tried checking all the fuses, that one was hard to get out, and didnt think it could have been that one so i just said forget it. i really thought it was a relay problem, but i guess it wasnt, but thanks for the help racer.
