Auto tranny repair price? or do it myself?
Long story short I pulled the tranny to do a front pump seal and a rear main. When I took the shifter cable off it didnt unscrew the bracket, i pulled the snap ring from around it. when I did that the shifter thing (forks?) slipped up and out of place. being the dumb sht that I am I pushed REALLY hard down on that part and im pretty dang sure I bent something. So i pulled the pan, and when I pulled the pan I had to bend (using a screw driver) the fork? thing to get it to snap back in place. Now the car moves, but it seems like there a big load on the engine while its going. It also shifts pretty fast from 1st, to 2nd, and then to 3rd. Like its in 3rd gear by the time your going 30 mph. so it sucks climbing a hill. There is also a rather large delay when it shifts from 1st to 2nd. Enough to make your head bobble around when it shifts.
if any of this makes sence what Im asking is if I need to take this thing to AMCCO and have them do some work on it, or is this fork thing I can buy and do myself?

Now you no that if you take it to a tranny place they a going to tell you that you need a new tranny. Try & fix that shifter yourself & what kind of tranny fluid did you use? Did you use mopar4 (ATF4) If not you need to get that fluid back out and use the ATF4. With the pan off you should see where the shifter hooks up. There you should see if you bent something.
its the link thing there that I messed up. right above the sensor thing with 3 prongs.. on the right side. I pretty much took that whole thing out. even tho i wasnt suposta. is that something I can fix myself? or is it som crazy thing that ONLY a pro shold do?
at4? not that I know of. I used....
DEXRON-III. This is a specification for General Motors vehicles, but many foreign manufactures specify a DEXRON approved ATF as well. DEXRON-III can be used in transmissions that call for DEXRON-IIE or DEXRON-II.
dont tell me that its as simple as a fluid change. cuz If i put in some of that stop leak crud it shifts fine for like a few days or so... but then it goes to crap (its leaking tranny fluid pretty bad)

Dexron SHOULD NOT be used in Mopar trannies. The friction modifiers aren't correct.

Ok I just dealt with this problem a couple months ago. You prolly broke your shafton your valve body inside your tranny. The other thing is the 2 metal pipes that come out of the valve body into the transmission, you have to make sure the pipe is completely inserted into the transmission or your car acts like a terd. I couldnt get my car to shift outta 1st gear because of it and the only thing the transmission shop told me was they were going to put a new transmission in costing anywhere from $1000 to $1500.
