i purchased a 1996 dodge neon at an auto auction and as many of U know teh 1995-1999 models had a head gasket ;problem that if not fixed would crak and leak water into the engine so when i got it it had this problem. so my options were to get a new engine of febuild the old one so i decide to get a new engine however the engie that i got was off a 2000 and it was working fine but recently i notice a large leak in trasmissiom fluid and when i took it to get check they told me that the tranny was ruined so what im asking is if the problem was that i had a leak in the gaskets or if the problem is that i have a 1996 tranny hooked up to a 2000 engine?

 

P.S. I would also like to ask if it would be better to buy another tranny or to rebuid the current one
