Nor do you get the performance from a CAI either.

It's more like no flow...the air doesn't flow thru anything except the filter. No velocity is being created.

well for one it is pulling in colder air so wouldnt that make it better and there is some pipe between the filter and the tb not much though but if u dont think its worth nething then thats up to u but y dont u try it out to see what u think b4 u turn down everyone else ideas

wouldent it just suck up hot air cus its so close to the motor and the heat thats coming off the motor is just going to get sucked in unless the filter is coming out of the hood then it might suck in cold air but like every one is saying theres no velocity thats just my opinion

but u got all the cold air coming in from under the hood idk and idc i just think somepeople should try things sometimes b4 they turn everything down i might be losing power but i could be making power there is no way to tell other then testing it

Because you are not the first person to think of this. I have seen it tried and it hurts performance and 1/4 mile times. A guy I know actually experimented with his own CAI and found that he reduced his times by lengthening to the intake tube.

I am not just throwing words out there.
