Default doch swap

ok this is going to be a dumb question but here gos i have a 96 neon sohcand i have a blown motor what do i need if i want to put in a doch i now i need the pcm and i am planing on geting a complet motor (in take exhaust oil panjust not the trany) i plan on using the mtx trany so what more do i need thanks alot guys peace out

You will need the motor, intake and exhaust manifold, engine wiring harness, and the appropriate PCM for the year engine. 95 engine needs the 95 engine wiring harness and PCM, 96 engine needs a 96 PCM, 97-99 engine can use any of the 3 years.

Like they said, get it at the boneyard. Usually if you cant find one in a neon you can find one in a stratus, they are the same motors. Or if you just wanted to rebuild your current engine and just go to the boneyard and get a DOHC head, intake/exaust manifold, PCM, Harness, and a few other little goodies off a doner motor (SOHC and DOHC blocks are identical) Just be smart and replace things that you should like the timing belt, water pump, new head bolts and such. If you dont these things usually come back to haunt you, even if say you find a running motor.
