I know this forum gets this a lot, but whats a good CAI that doesnt require moving the battery?

ice man,but thery'e discontinued alot of cai go over the exhaust manifold which really isnt a cai. my one neon i made the intake like a stock one but where it turns lefti went right and took it right over the trans i used pvc

Alright, that might work...Yeah, I was planning on taking a scoop from a WRX and crafting myself a ram air where the hood and bumper meets...Do you happen to have a pic of the PVC work?

No, but it turns out that PVC is heat resistant and that's why I did it.

Yeah, its very heat resistant plus it wont have the turbulence like some systems

When PVC burns in accidental fires, hydrogen chloride gas and dioxin are formed. Not a great idea to use it in the engine bay!!!!!!

Just because you put a hood scoop on the hood doesn't make it ram air. Here is how a real ram air hood works....

I understand that....Im just trying to get more air in the engine...I dont quite have the money to buy a true CAI and I dont trust myself moving the battery to the trunk

Costs about $50 to make the 3.0L CAI for the 1st gen neon and it's pretty simple.

Yea, I could do that, thanks!...Does it get dirty fast compared to most being that low to the road and which 3.0 do I pull it off of?

They do get dirty, but thats why you get a good quality filter such as K&N. Get the intake tube from a mid-90's V6 Chrysler. The pic below is what it looks like.
