whats the deal with long rod and regular pistons/connecting rods?????

would i feel any difference between the 2???

 

Note sure on that one. What are you comparing?

 

long rods have a higher revvin range, because of the shorter stroke. I've heard they're spose to produce more power but I've never seen any evidence of that.

Edit - cars like BMW an Benz have longer rods they rev to around10 000. F1 cars also use longer rods, helpin them rev at around 20 000 thas why they make that high pitch sound =)

 

i was just wondering because i was bidding on a set of JE 8.8:1 pistons on ebay that were long rod and standard bore.....i just wasnt sure if it was worth it......but, i cancelled my bid so that i could wait and bid on a new motor for my car
