need help 911 air/fuel gauge wiring
Hey, I am wiring up an air/fuel ratio gauge in a friends 99 neon r/t. So far I have spliced the gauge in with all 4 wires on the o2 sensor on the header, 2 white ones, black, and gray. Each wire I spliced,The needlemoved a little differently around the gauge, but when the car started, it would just either stop on lean, or rich, and would not move. Am I hooking it up in the wrong spot? Please help. Thanks.
Hrm, Do a search on the forum about this one. I know I had hooked up one in my R/T... 1- you dont want to hook it up to the wires that go to the O2 sensor that are gray/white/black, because when you replace the sensor, you have to resplice... If you go above the connection though to the harness, I do beleive its the black wire w/ a green tracer through it...
have you tried letting it warm up? the o2 will show rich ( usually)intill it gets some heat in it.
Wideband is the only way to go unless you just want it basically for looks., thats why theres a $280 difference in price
