I have a 1997 sohc 2.0 Neon Sport with a major rear main leak that i had replaced twice... it has 220,000 miles on it so i think its time to swap... but i wanna go 2.4l... i plan on deckin the heads .050 and upgrading ign. and fuel...My questions are:
1. When buyin the motor wat year and model is best to hunt for a 2.4l for my neon?

2. I know u need to swap the computer and passenger motor mount, but is there anything else that needs to be purchased besides mantinance items (oil pump, gaskets, and wowowo)?

3. As far as wiring, moving the injector wires down one and put #4 on #1, extending the oil sending unit wire, and the rest plugs in.... thats it rite?

4. I have the non power bulge hood and would like to keep it... is this possible or do i need to add that to my list?

5. I use the 2.0 dohc computer rite but i have to buy one... what proformance computer andignitionis best for my setup?

6. As far as fuel ima go walbro pump and fuel prss. reg. and i plan on tryin to install dsm injector i have layin around... gas or pass on this idea?

7. Is there anything im missing?

If you are swapping the SRT-4 tranny in too, I am going to be fabing something up to make the tranny fit right on the stock mounting bracket in the 1st gens. If my idea works, I will consider making a few kits and selling them if anyone is interested!

Thats an old write-up, so the the Nemo mount is no longer around, but you can get a 2.4 motor mount adapter from Modern Performance. Modern also sells the Mopar EGR block-off kit or you can buy one from www.neongoodies.com.

hey im figuring thing out myself cuz it seems this forum isnt to experienced in this swap but can anyone tell me ifthere is a2.4l manuel computer or do i use the 2.0l manuel computer

 

It tells you in the link I provided that you use a stock neon DOHC PCM.

 

2.4 is the easiest motor swap there is, easier than any honda.
what is your car? year/engine, etc. what 2.4 are you putting in?
if your car is sohc, get a 97-99 dohc engine harness.

need a stratus 2.4 pass mm adapter plate.
pass side adapter.
trim fmm to clear oil pan.
24 lb injectors
move injectors down one
swap outer coil pack wires
sohc hood will not work, no matter how much you cut out
need a dohc computer.
use neon tranny.
get a modded srt clutch. pretty cheap. need new to bearing
dohc tps and iac neon
dohc cams turn cam magnet 90 degrees

new water pump, srt tensioner, upgraded tensioner bolt, oil pump, timing belt, headgasket are good things to replace while it is easy.
