has any one tried this and how well would it work compared to what i have in the picture?

 

almost everyone has tryed this lol, im at work right now so i dont have any pics to show you but im sure lots of others do. and yes it will work better than the setup you have. what you have is like a shinny Hot Air Intake

 

that would be mine. but mines a MTX. is yours a ATX? and from your avator it looks like you have a single rad. fan is that correct?

 

The 3.0L intake would be WAY better than your current setup.
