went to pull-a-part and scored this...
im not sure.....the guy im taking the motor to works mostly on V8's.....he said it isnt too often that sumone wants him to supe up a neon motor.....so all the prices he gave me were for a V8 but he said the actually prices will differ when the time comes...to balance a V8 crank he said it would cost about $260.00, so i figure about half of that.....(crank balancing was included in my $800.00 price, which might be closer to $500 or even $400 when its done....maybe i will try and bring the motor in there early next week and hopefully sunday i can start to order all the rest of my parts, its only gonna take about 20minuites for me to rip this block apart, so i could actually bring it in there tonight, but i dont wanna hurry[&:])
hope you're stong, or have an impact wrench, cause those main bearing bolts neededair tools when i took mine apart...a regular socket wrench wont do the trick....and youll be there forever
i got me an inpact too. there was no way i was going to do anymore work without it espicaly in michigan were everything rusts cause of the road salt so where do i look to get my engine bored at?
check the yellow pages for machine shops to get it bored at...
i actually have 3 impact wrenches.....1 a friend stole for me from his old work, then i had my main wrench but i thought it was starting to crap out on me so i bought a new one.....ends up it was just so cold when i was using it that the water in the air would freeze inside the wrench.....
i like air ratchets alot too, makes things alot easier....i just got the ratchet because i was tired of spending 20 minuitesto remove analternator because of the top tensioner bolt[&:]
picked up a die grinder a couple weeks ago to speed up the head porting process
