Default Is there a trick to the oil pressure sensor wiring

Hello all, I'm new and if you want to know more about me I posted in the new members area. This promises to be the first of many posts. I tried searching on this but,I didn't find anything. I'm working on a '97 Neon w/ 138K. The oil pressure sensor is spewing oil everywhere. I have the new sensor and I found the sensor on the car but, I can't for the life of me get the wire off. At this point I've broken off the clip that holds it on but, it won't budge. I really can't reach it topull hardeither from the top or from the bottom. I've tried pryingwith a screwdriver. Is there some trick to this???

the wireplugs on these cars have a little red sliding piece that move from side to side and works as a stopper so that the plug wont just fall off the sensor.....you have to move the little slider and then push down on the clip to release the plug....
it is easily accessable from underneath the car

How much did you pay for the sensor? Mine is leaking oil too.

the leaking sensor is a common problem with these cars....its easy to fix.....
channel locks can usually take the sensor out, good thing about oil is that it keeps the stuff lubricated

The sensor was $27 at Advance. A leaking oil pressure sensor is a pretty common problem on any car in my experience. Sort of like a thermostat. It's a part that goes now and then. I didn't see any red part on the connector. There are a LOT of other things I need to do to this car. Is there a cheaper source of dealer parts on-line somewhere?

I thought I'd post back and let everyone know I got it. The light of day helped. What I didn't see before was that this sensor has two set of clips holding the wire on. I'd broken off one of them but not the other. I was able to get a small pair of pliers in there to release the clip and get the harness off. The new sensor is on and I believe the leak is stopped. Thanks to all that replied.

Next week timing chain.
