Default thumping sound in the rear

When I ride over bumps or a bumpy road there is this thumping sound coming from the rear of the car. The shocks seem fine because there is no extra bounce in the rear of the car so what could this be? Also anyone have an idea where I can find a drivers side door panel (black 2dr)

This may sound funny, but check if you have any spray cans, bottles ,etc... in the trunk.
Once I had a can of aerosol in the trunk and it would hit the back of the seats making a very loud thumping noise.

Look at the top of the rear strut where it bolts to the car with 4 bolts, inside the trunk i might add and youll have to pull teh carpet away from the sides.., theres a rubber cap in the center. Take that rubber cap off, youll see a stud with a nut, bounce the car up & down as hard as you can, if that stud moves up & down in the plate, thats your thumping. You might be able to attempt to tighten it down some. If not youll have to replace the top plate or the bushing, whichever is bad. that requires a spring compressor so the spring dont go flying on ya, might not be the case, but check into it.
You could also have exhausthitting the suspension or the floor. or the spare tire / jack or something stupid bouncing in the trunk.

Bad strut mounts can cause a thumping sound.
