Default belt problems

So..I went to take my daughter home last night..and its been snowing like crazy here. The neon was a bit stuck, so I had my daughter (11) behind the wheel while I was pushing.I had to try and teach her how to use the clutch and get the car rocking some. She did great, except a few occasions she overrevved it, I dont think she ever went past 4k rpm though..I was watching.Anyways, I managed to get the car unstuck and out in the road.As Im going down the road I notice my steering is hard, and the lights are kinda dim.So I pulled over and popped the hood.To my horror both my alternator belt, and my power steering belt were completely off.[:@]

I have a tti racing underdrive pulley on the car now, it has 6 bolts on it, that tighten up a sleeve that goes around the crankshaft. Its not held on with 1 bolt like all other pulleys, because I had a friend trying to get my stock pulley off a long time ago, and came up with bright idea of using a deepwell socket for leverage. He managed to get the deepwell socket stuck inside the crackshaft hole.

I want to fix this right, cause ever since I put on tti pulley, Ive had nothing but problems, and squeeling belts. So heres some of my questions.Do you think a shop could get the socket out of crankshaft and rethread it.? I have asked 1 or 2 shops, and they told me they would not work on it, because it could mess up the balance of crankshaft..yadda yadda...I think a socket being stuck in there last 2 years would mess it up too...but it has'nt. If there is no way of getting socket out and rethreading the hole, does anyone know of another racing pulley, that uses 5 or 6 bolts to wrap around the crankshaft..instead of just using the 1 main bolt.?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated, right now the lil neon is under about 6 inches of snow, stuck halfway down driveway...with no belts on it..

Would I have to take engine out to replace it.? If that's the case...I can get an engine from a friend for $75....but then I would have to take good parts from mine, and put into that. This is only car I have...so taking engine out now is not really an option....

you car replace the crank while the motor is in the car.....but it will be more difficult since you have to take off the tranny

Well...Im still stuck without a car. Im trying to think of how I can get the deepwell socket out of that hole.Like some type of slide hammer, or a special drill bit, that can drill thru the hardened steel socket.I have tried drilling with a normal drill bit, and it didnt seem to do anything to the socket in there.

At this point I just want to put the stock pulley back on.Im sick of having non-stop belt squueling, and slipping problems.TTi racing can suck my ****.It's no wonder thay went outta business.Their pulley was wearing out some, weeks after install.Ill start calling shops. For the record this was an old friend of mine that got the socket stuck in there, not me.He was working on that side of engine, while I was working on other during a headgasket job. Then I hear him say "oh s$#t". I still cant believe he even tried doing that.

I know this is not a common problem of any sort, but any info you guys can give would really help. There has to be a way to get that socket outta there...there has to be!@! Thx for reading...

I dunno why he used a socket...cause he was not a mechanic..and came up with a really stupid idea....If I had seen what he was doing, I woulda stopped him.Yea it was retarted.I do have the correct tool to get the pulley off now.But that still dont help this situation.

No its not just you...everyone and their mom is wondering how I got a socket in there...I dunno, maybe If dodge made a pulley that you could use a regular pulley puller on..this woulda never happened.I paid the $100 to get the tool specifically for a few select chrysler engines....Getting pulley off and on is not the issue anymore. Now the issue is getting that hole cleared of "debry", and possibly retapping the threads, if they need it.Im looking for advice...not sarcasm and insults....thx

is the socket in really far? you could try welding a smaller bolt (like a 3/8 grade 8) to the end of it and see if it will turn or pull out that way. As long as you dont weld for long times, and give enough cool time you wont burn the main seal or damage the crank. I did that when my bolt twisted off in the crank and managed to work it out of there.
I know its a little harder when something got pressed in the hole but if you can get to it, it might be worth a shot.
Or try to run a 7/16 tap (if its a 3/8 drive)into the socket and then screw a really long threaded bolt into it, when it bottoms out in the crank, keep screwing it in and it will exctract the socket if the threads hold. Same idea as how the balancer puller works.
