Default Hi Im new here

Hi guys just wanted to say hi since Im probably gonna be on here alot.In about 2 weeks Im getting a 95 dodge neon the dohc one.2 door.Im very excited. .Anyways the tach says 140,000 on it.But its a long story my cousin actually had the car for a while. She blew the motor and rebuilt it along with the tranny and replaced the clutch,so the motor tranny and clutch only have 20 k on them.Im just excited becasue the car I have now is a 91 cavalier z 24 and I looked at the neon yesturday and everything is just alot more modern looking the interior, gauges, buttons just everything. So my question is anything I should be worried about or do to this car when I get it?The person Im buying it from put new tailights and read that they leak so he siliconed them.He put new headlights in since they were all foggy.New windsheild. So any tips or pointers would be helpful.I already look through the stickies as well.Thanks.

The neons were notorious for headgasket failure and leaks. But being that it's 11 years old, I would assume it has the newer MLS HG.

The 95 coupe's were the lightest neons available and they shift nice. You also are getting one with the more agressive cam. Read thru this post for more info...

thanks for the link das2123,Im going to look through that after this post.Im happy they shift nicely Its not very enjoyable to drive a 5 speed thats rough. Also 1 more question. It says the neon has 150 hp and only 133 of torque. My cavalier has 140 hp but 185 torque. What difference will that be when driving?

you will be the only one to determine that....since you have both cars...but a dohcneon should be able to stomp a cavalier...unless you have the z24

It may take off a bit slower than your cavalier, but it's got enough torque to get up and go for fun.
