^^^Especially when you can get used pistons and rods for about $100.
there that cheap? Never got into a neon motor before, is it a Pain? I am assuming that the srt-4 internals doesn't fit in the 2.0 without boring it?
You can get almost all used SRT-4 stuff cheap. SRT-4 owners are always upgrading and selling off their stuff. I even saw a thread, where an SRT-4 owner just gave away a used set of pistons and rods, just needed new bearings.

No they won't fit the 2.0, even if you bore it out.

Not an original, but a knockoff. not as blocky. I do not have the M8 x 1.25 bolts. It takes six or eight hex head, can't remember how many off the top of my head. I used it for about two years. I used it to mount a DOHC header that I had laying around to my SOHC b4 the SRT exhaust went on. I picked it up from a guy at a car show for 80 dollars. I figured $80 and mounting the DOHC header that I already owned was better than $200-$250 for a good SOHC header.

hmm, have any idea how much the stock turbos and manifold go for?

Is there any other stock srt-4 parts that will work? I mean, this is sounding like you can build a pretty cheap setup

SRT turbo and manifold go anywhere from $150-$250. SRT-4 exhaust is about $100.

So, I would need, srt-4 turbo, manifold, exhaust, intercooler, pistons, rods, and is that it? I mean hell, what else is left for the setup? Need a BOV, can you use the srt's the wastegate/bov?

Turbo and manifold is one piece, just an FYI.

You can use the stock WG, I think it's set to 8psi, but not positive on that. You would need to find some intercooler piping and downpipe also. You don't need the SRT-4 exhaust, I was just giving you an idea on the cheap pricing.

Oh and if you find a 95-99 2.4 block, you can use your 2.0L DOHC head on it.

you aslo need to figure out a fuel system to run.....
there are alot of srt4 parts that will work on the dohc neons....ive got most of them on mine
the mopar plste style bov sounds real good too

What kinda fuel system is the best to be run? I have read alot about megasquart(read a lot about it, but seems to be a pain in the *** to tune).

Well what parts can be swapped onto a 2.4 from the srt-4? Pistons/rods,manifold and turbo, exhaust, intercooler, and anything else?

If I get into rebuilding the 2.4 for the neon, will the srt-4 pistons/rods handle much boost? or how much more do forged pistons and rods cost? And if I do do srt-4 pistons/rods how much boost can they handle? and would there be anything else I should change to make it more reliable to boost and for higher psi?

EDIT: Also, I have been reading, what kinda intake manifold should I swap to? Can you use a srt-4 TB or would that be pointless?

well you dont need megasqurt...but it would be nice to have on a turbo application. a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, srt4 injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump- you can either do the spoolboy modded fuel canister, or do the same setup Spud did....1 intank walbro 255, and one external inline pump. for the 2.4 block, you can use the srt4 rods and pistons--dont forget the bearings, and for the head, a 2.0 dohc head will work, and the srt4 turbo manifold will bolt right up to it. the stocksrtintercooler is good for around 320whp...the pistons and rods should hold fine for 12-15psi properly tuned. if im not mistaking, the srt4 rods are made with forged steel....but im not sure about the psitons...of you are using the 2.0 dohc head....use the same manifold...unless you have onecustom made from AMM

Ok, well what kinda power could I be putting down on 12-15psi tuned right? Is there anything else I should worry about? Honestly, if I am going down to the rods and pistons wouldn't it just be worth it to build the engine from the bottom up with new seals and all(from a rebuild kit) just so everything is new? I mean honestly, why not have a new rebuilt motor so theres no problems with seals or anything.

If the pistons and rods are cheap and the turbo manifold and turbo and the intercooler are all that cheap, this setup shouldn't cost much at all should it?

How big of a pain is the neon to tune on MS, I know my car is a PAIN in the ***. Would I run into any problems with not running MS? If the intercooler will go up to 320hp I would be VERY happy to get that kinda power. Honestly, I want to do this cheap(not like cut corners, but on the lower end if I can do it. Plus, all the work will be done by me(unless I need something special done).

Also, just wondering, but does anyone know the most amount of power someone is putting down on an n/a engine?
