i guess you were right....i never said anything about the turbo's getting better gas milage due to you not having to get on the gas as much

turbo cars sumtimes get better mpg if they are driven correctly since you dont have to get on the gas as much to get the car moving

Fun, ridiculous, I guess it is all the same. First I'll ask the question; What determines "driven correctly"? What is that standard?

Now one thing that we can never change is that it still takes a given amount of power over a variable amount of time to put in motion a given weight and achieve the desired velocity.
Let me break that down for ya!

The desired velocity, or speed will be 55mph.
The weight of your car is the given weight. We will say 2800 lbs.
Lets say for argumment, and to keep it simple, it takes 100hp to achieve 55mph.
Dyno charts will show that the rate of hp climb in a turbo car is faster than a N/A car once the turbo is spooled up.
So it is safe to assume that the turbo car will achieve 100hp faster than the N/A car. So the turbo'ed car will reach the desired velocity or 55mph faster that the N/A car, so you can get out of the throttle quicker. This is what you have been saying.

Stay with me now, don't let me throw you. You are doing great.
Lets answer the question, How does a turbocharged car achieve 100hp faster that a N/A car? It increases the amount of air and fuel in the cylinder by forcing or compressing the charge, by pressure, resulting in a higher achieved volumetric effeciency in a shorter amount of time. So keeping it simple, higher fuel/air charge= more hp ina shorter time span.It will still take the same amount, or more, fuel/airto achieve the 100hp, but it will do it in a shorter period of time. So in theory all you are saving is time, not fuel.

Now if you change you driving habits to not spool the turbo, (cause it to touse more fuel/air by compressing the charge) you may get better fuel mileage. But again this would negate the very reason you have a turbo. If what you want to gain is mpg, abandon the turbo idea and buy a hybrid.

Spud, really, you make me laugh like a giddy school boy that just saw his
first tit!! You have alot of good knowledge to share, it is just my opinion that this is not one of those times. Lets just agree to disagree. After all, I have already conceded to the fact that you are right.

ok let me explain a little...
by drive it correctly, i would mean not having your foot in the throttle like i do as much.....thats it
rear the car manual....it says how to properly shift your car......which may also help to understand how to correctly drive your car....imo

i dont need any lessons that have been taught by the all mighty garry howell......im just gonna go by the personal experience that my car gets better gas milage with the turbo then without........besides mr. howeel my know sumthing about neons, but he sure doesnt seem to know anything about how to run a website store[&:]......again....imo

You are a funny little man! I would love to watch you put a car down the track shifting and driving it according to the owners manual. BTW, does your boyfriend drive a car too?

Believe me, I do know how to drive my car, and your too for that matter. I attend at least three driving schools and/or clinics a year ranging from autocross to drag racing.

What I have learned from continually educating myself by applying my hobby, andin classes taught by guys that do this for a living, is that I car drive any automobile correctlyaccording to any given situation. Autocross, drag racing, daily commuting, defensive driving, offensive driving, evassive driving, etc. Hell I can even drive my car correctly while getting a hummer from my girl.

As far as learning lessons from the "Almighty Gary Howell"; I have the mental capacity to learn from anyone that has something value added to offer. Even you!! To bring everyone up to speed, I said something about learning something from Gary Howell in another thread. Way to stay on topic Spud!
But I guess when you reach the peak of the information threshold and you know all, nobody has anything to offer for you to learn from. Maybe I'll reach that point someday.

If you are smarter than Gary, and can run awebsite business better than Gary, then by all means, do it. I mean free enterprise is there with open arms. Wide open opportunity. Put him out of business. I don't buy from him anyway.
The reason you don't do it is because you can't! A little advise, the first step might be learning to spell better than Gary.Since you are apparently into book learning, I mean learning to drive your car by the owners manual and all, try the book Hooked on Phonics.

Like I said before, if installing your turbo makes you drive your car easier, then so be it. It just seems counter-intuitive to me.It seems to me that everyone in the free world installs a turbo to increase performance, but thats okay, because I have sympathy for backwards peoplelike you.

i never said that i drive according to the owners manual or that i would ever put it down any track as such.....pay attention...it helps...

maybe you should let me borry hooked on phonics when your done with it (though i assume i will be waiting for a while....i havent attacked your spelling or grammer, but if i wanted to understand your second paragraph, then i might have to do some correcting......

whats the deal with asking if my boyfriend drives a car?????? now your just getting too personal for a public page for people of any age

maybe i should open a store.....especially since i think a 5th grader could probally run an online store better then howell.....

and besides i never said that I installed a turbo for the perpose of driving my car easier......this is just getting stupid since you keep goin on and all i stated was that my car got better gas milage after a turbo....i can argue with you all day and nite....makes no difference to me, gives me sumthing to do
